Call for Papers: 2010 Symposium for the Marketing of Higher Education

The Call for Papers is open for the 2010 Symposium for the Marketing of Higher Education. If you’ve attended in the past, you know what a fabulous conference this is. Over the years, we’ve participated as both attendees and presenters and have gotten a lot out of both experiences. This year, the conference will be held in always-sunny San Diego, so that’s extra incentive to attend!

If you have a session idea, please share it. For information on proposal submisisons, go to: call for proposals. This is the first year the Symposium is accepting video submissions (how cool is that?), so give it a whirl if you can. Nothing fancy, just you talking for 2 to 3 minutes about your session idea. The Call for Papers closes on April 9th, so please get your submission in soon.

I’m pleased to announce that I’m a member of the conference steering committee, so if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Happy NACAC-ing

We couldn’t all possibly actually be in Baltimore for NACAC’s 65th Annual Conference, but I promise, the rest of us here in the office are there in spirit. [For those of you who have no idea about NACAC: It's the National Association for College Admission Counseling, founded in 1937. It's an organization of more than 11,000 professionals from around the world dedicated to serving students as they make choices about pursuing postsecondary education.]

We’re unveiling some of our clients’ latest works of art in Booth #945. And that booth mind you, is no mere conference space – it’s Mindpower: The Exhibit, showcasing a few highlights from our recent work. The exhibits will change daily, so be sure to stop by the Gallery each day to see what’s new.

For those of you not attending, here are links to some of the work we’ll be sharing.

Making Peace with Branding: Goshen College
Auggies Live for the Experience: Augsburg College

Reminder: We’re celebrating the opening of our gallery Thursday evening with an intimate gathering at La Tasca in the Inner Harbor. Be sure to stop by the gallery to pick up your invitation!

BTW: if you use twitter, the official hashtag is #NACAC09

We love to think.

And because we love to think, we’re thinking about “old” media versus “new” media. Which makes us curious: Which has been more effective for your organization?

We’ll be asking that question to higher-ed marketing professionals later this week — and next — while we’re attending the AMA’s Symposium for the Marketing of Higher Education in Chicago. (By the way, if you’re also headed that way, please come by the exhibit area and say hello. We’ll be in Booth #14.)

To review the “official” poll results, come back here, to our blog, next week. (But you don’t have to wait for others to answer. Leave your thoughts and comments here. Which is working better for you?)
